- Betting Pick: Terrance Crawford by Decision.
Undefeated three-weight world champion Terence Crawford and to many the #1 pound-for-pound boxer returns this November. Crawford is set to take on two-time welterweight champion “Showtime” Shawn Porter, with the WBO welterweight title on the line. The bout will take place on Nov. 20 at Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay, as first reported by Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports. Mike Coppinger of ESPN later confirmed the report.

Betting on Crawford vs Porter
This is the biggest fight in both of their careers to date. It’s a real legacy fight for Crawford, who needs a win over a big name at this stage of his career. For Porter, it’s one more shot at gold and to cement his place over one of the current pound-for-pound greats.
Terence Crawford will have a reach and height advantage over Porter. He’s KO’d his last six opponents and will be going into this fight to make a statement. We will review the betting odds for Crawford to win by finish and decision, once those prop bets are released.
Porter is a switch stance fighter and has real power in both hands. His three career losses to date came at the hands of Kell Brook, Keith Thurman, and Errol Spence, which were all close fights, His notable wins are over Yordenis Ugás, Andre Berto and Danny Garcia.
According to CBDSports, This is largely a function of Crawford being under the Top Rank promotional umbrella. Most of the sport’s top welterweights are a part of Premier Boxing Champions, leaving Crawford to fight all five of his championship bouts in the division against less impressive opponents than Errol Spence Jr., the man who holds the WBC and IBF titles.
“Porter is without a doubt Crawford’s toughest fight at welterweight, and I think Crawford may be Porter’s toughest fight,” Top Rank vice president Carl Moretti said to Iole. “This fight … wow. It’s going to be something.”
Both boxers will be 34 by the time this fight takes place and they have been out of the ring for over a year. Which could mean a few rounds of adjusting before the heat gets turned up. This is a real opportunity for Terence Crawford to prove he’s without a doubt in that pound-for-pound discussion. For Porter, this is most likely the last opportunity of his career to prove he’s not a gatekeeper and is the of the best.
My early betting pick for this fight is Crawford by decision. I think Porter will make it competitive but Crawford’s movement and composure will be too much for “Showtime”. Many are hoping this bout leads to a Spence vs. Crawford showdown in the near future.
