Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Caleb Plant’s middleweight title unification bout is heating up. After an explosive press conference, where Plant ended up with a cut across his face after a brawl broke out. We now know this fight has some real rivalry and the odds have changed since then. Let’s check out the latest fight prediction and betting props for Canelo vs Plant below.
Canelo vs Plant Prediction
Caleb Plant will put his undefeated record on the line, November 6 at the MGM Grand area in Las Vegas. Plant is looking to have his hand raised as the hero in this battle. After recent PED accusations against Canelo and his trainer Eddie Reynoso. Plant is the current IBF middleweight champion and this is the final gemstone that Canelo is going after.
Plant’s style is very fluid and I expect him to grind this fight out behind his jab. Using distance and footwork to keep Canelo at bay. We’ve seen this before from Canelo’s past opponents, where they can easily win the opening rounds but typically the momentum sways after the mid-point of the fight.
Plant is not known for his finishing capabilities, although 12 of his 21 wins are by finish. The majority of these KO/TKO wins are from earlier in his career, similar to Canelo’s last opponent Billy Joe Saunders. If you are betting on Plant upset the odds here, then I would recommend checking out Plant by decisions odds below.
For Canelo, he has to just keep doing what’s gotten him to the dance these past few years. Maintaining that excellent head movement to avoid Plant’s jab and countering at the right moments. While a press conference isn’t a great example of this, Canelo landed three shots after Plant through one slap. In terms of speed, this will be interesting to see if Plant has enough pop to frustrate the Mexican champ.
I’m expecting this fight to play out competitively enough in the early rounds. With Plant looking sharp and Canelo looming for the right moment. Don’t be surprised if Canelo starts walking down Plant by the fifth round and in terms of betting I expect him to score a KO/TKO win by the 10th round. This fight has much significance, with the winner becoming the first undisputed middleweight champion in boxing history.

Plant Crosses the Line
During the face-off, the pair exchanged words. With Canelo taking the wrong end of the stick for an insult coming from Plant. When Canelo pushed Plant, the Tennessee boxer returned with a slap and thus Canelo dropped his shades and immediately launched into a three-punch combo.
“You can say whatever to me, but not to my mom,” Canelo said afterward. “I’m going to fight anyone who says something about my mom. And he swung first. I just pushed him. He swung first, and I do what I do. He crossed the line.
“It will be over in eight rounds or less. I’m going to knock out this guy. Easy.”
