Demetrius Andrade vs Zach Parker Predictions
On May 21, Demetrius Andrade will meet some might say his match. Parker is a long and rangy fighter, it resembles the attributes that Andrade relies on to win his fights. Parker has five straight TKO/Ko victories in a row now, prior to that straight he won by split decision against Daryll Williams for the vacant British super-middleweight title.
Zach Parker is extremely athletic and packs a solid punch. One downfall of Parker is that he tends to find in close, but likes to test fighters by leaning in and see if Andrade goes for it and to deliver his counter punches.
With his confidence in his ability and power, he has 21 wins with 16 by KO. One of the keys for Parker here is that he should rely on the jab more often to set up bigger shots. This will be essential against Andrade, who is tricky and can work his way around Parker; unless Parker keeps the jab consistently pumping to upset Andrade’s rhythm.
We Andrade’s last bout he made short work of Jason Quigley, by 2nd round TKO. Prior to that fight, he went the distance with Liam Williams. This was a tough fight for Andrade, who should he has the durability and tricks to hand in there with the best at middleweight.
I expect Andrade to try many different tactics, where he’ll bull rush Parker just to see how he reacts. At 34 age Andrade is now a veteran and he comes with that advantage to this fight.
In the past “Boo Boo” was known as a slightly sloppy fighter, that is just for the fans though. Something that doesn’t come naturally to Andrade is fighting sloppy, he’s done this in the past to go for the KO and get those big fights he’s been chasing.
How Andrade reacts to Parker’s pressure will be pivotal to this fight. Parker lands solid body shots and if he wants to wear down Andrade, he’ll need to efficiently deliver those shots to the body.
Overall, I expect this fight to be Andrade’s toughest fight to date. For Parker he’s still improving and win or lose here I see this being a huge lesson to him going forward in his career. Andrade is definitely a step up in competition, whether people like it or not. I see Andrade’s composure being enough and footwork to be enough to pick off Parker as the later rounds progress.
Betting Prediction: Andrade by Decision.
Winner Fights Canelo Next?
Once again Andrade is the firm favorite to maintain his undefeated streak. With a record of 31-0 with 19 knockouts. Many are wanting Andrade to take on bigger challenges, that’s not to say Zach Parker isn’t a great test. Honestly, I think Andrade’s style could cause problems for some of the best middleweights right now.
Hopefully, we get to see Andrade take on David Benavidez, Caleb Plant, or even Canelo Alvarez. As all of these match-ups would make for great PPVs and stylistically make for interesting fights. Next for Canelo is Russian sensation Bivol, we reviewed the opening Canelo vs Bivol odds for next month’s bout.
