‘A Public Execution… I Will LIQUIDATE You…’ 💀 Chris Eubank Jr. And Conor Benn Get Raw

Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn Betting Prediction

Eubank Jr has only tasted defeat twice in his pro-career which started in 2011, to Billy Joe Saunders and George Groves. Benn on the other hand remains undefeated and has risen up the welterweight ranks as he makes a name for himself in this legacy fight.

Benn is moving up in weight to take on Eubank Jr, a move that will see him step away from his welterweight championship run to make some extra cash and secure a solid name on his record if successful.

Eubank Jr (32-2), is on a five-fight winning streak since losing to George Groves in 2018 at the Manchester Arena. His two most notable wins since then have been James DeGale and Liam Williams in February of this year. This marks Eubank’s closest odds since fighting George Groves, where he was a -175 favorite. Since then we’ve seen him be -2500 against Jj McDonagh and more recently -300 against Williams.

Benn (21-0), is steadily becoming one of the hottest names in British boxing. After winning the WBA continental welterweight title in 2018, Benn has demolished various opponents including Samuel Vargas, Chris Algieri, and Chris van Heerden by 2nd round TKO earlier this year.

Benn is in a similar situation to Eubank in terms of requiring a bigger test and his odds history reflects this. This will be the first time Benn has been the underdog in his career. The closest to being an underdog was when he fought Sebastian Formella in 2020, as a -270 favorite.

Benn boxes at 147 lbs and is on the verge of getting a world title shot, he’s putting his undefeated record on the line to move up to 157 lbs to take on Eubank Jr. Benn knows the Barrios, Ugas, Crawford, and Spence are all tied up in their other stipulations where they are financial or not. Therefore, Eubank Jr’s name was thrown in the hat and their legacy made sense for all involved.

Benn’s style could certainly cause problems for Eubank who likes to showcase his flashy skills. I expect Eubank to use his 4.5 reach advantage to counter Benn and frustrate the younger fighter. As far punching power goes, Benn will be dangerous in the early rounds and Eubank’s patience and prowess will be essential.

I see the tide turning in the favor of Eubank when it goes past the 6th round. Overall Benn is a slight mismatch for Eubank and Benn’s aggression will be used against him in the championship rounds, where “NXT Gen” could have the chance to finish “The Destroyer”.

Betting Pick: Eubank by TKO.

Hearn Confident in Benn’s Ability

Eddie Hearn Backs Conor Benn To Stop Chris Eubank Jr. In 32-Year Family Grudge Match

“I know people write Conor Benn off, but I really think he’ll win the fight,” said Hearn when speaking on The DAZN Boxing Show.

“This fight will go down as one of the biggest fights in British boxing history and one of the biggest fights I’ve ever promoted. This fight, and its magnitude, it was just too big to say no.”

During the Eubank Jr vs Benn press conference, both boxers expressed confidence in their approach for their catchweight encounter as they answered media questions from promoters, Eddie Hearn and Kalle Sauerland. The matter of Eubank Jr’s weight was a stable discussion point and the Brighton man was quick to address that the limit of 157lbs will hinder him.

“If I’m at 100% then it’s a public execution. I’ll be 60% and that’ll be enough,” said Eubank when speaking at the top table. “Nothing like this has ever happened in the history of the sport. Two legends who inspired a nation, became superstars, and etched their names into British history. 30 year later, their son, who’ve both made themselves in boxing, are going to go to war for a third time.”
