Shannon Briggs’s (60-6-1), last fight was in 2016 against Emilio Zarate. A rather unknown boxer that Briggs finished in the first round. In his prime, Briggs held wins over Marion Wilson and George Foreman. He’s shared the ring with Lennox Lewis, and Vitali Klitschko was his last pro loss in 2010.
Rampage and Briggs almost came to blows during a weigh-in for the recent competition organized by Triller Fight Club, a martial arts organization known for staging combat between MMA fighters and boxers. Within Triad Combat, the fighters fight in a specially designed ring and fights last two minutes.
Jackson’s MMA team emerged triumphant in the final match of the night, despite former heavyweight champion Kubrat Pulev defeating former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir in the main event. Mir was clearly out of his depth and the fight didn’t go past 2 minutes.
Now the two coaches are destined to share the ring together. Rampage has kickboxing experience from the Pride days back in 2001, but the 44-year-old heavyweight hasn’t any strict boxing experience. Rampage’s last MMA win was against old rival Wanderlei Silva at Bellator 206 in 2018, he then retired from MMA the following year, hanging up the gloves with a record of 38-14.

“We have a couple of venues hitting us up. We’re just weighing out our options. We’re also trying to do a 24/7. A little reality show. I need to show the world that I’m serious and that I’m training hard. That I’m back in shape,” he explained. “I have a meeting tomorrow with some people who want to give us a reality show. I’m going, to be honest. This guy, for him to be that ugly and that old, he’s very f—king entertaining. He’s fun as hell. This guy is like the boxing version of me, except I’m not as old and ugly as he is.”
