Andrade vs Lemos Prediction at UFC Vegas 52
This bout has is not to be missed for many reasons; Andrade has the greatest performance bonuses in the history of the strawweight division while Lemos has the shortest fight time average in its record. These are only two fantastic female fighters who take joy in meeting up in battle and punching each other in the face.
Andrade vs Lemos is set to be a possible title eliminator at strawweight. With the stakes so high I expect both fighters to bring their A-game and not pull any punches. Andrade has been on up and down skid in her past few fights, that being said her only losses are to the elite at flyweight and strawweight.
Andrade holds notable wins over Cláudia Gadelha, Rose Namajunas, Katlyn Chookagian and Teica Torres. Those calibers of fighters are something Lemos doesn’t have the experience with, although she is 4 years older than Andrade. Lemos who fights out of a southpaw stance will have a three-inch reach advantage over Andrade which could payoff if this becomes a striking battle at range.
When it comes to volume, Andrade delivers more strikes per minute with 6.24 significant strikes compared to Lemos at 5.35. If Lemos can find a way to manipulate Andrade’s rhythm and land more effective shots she could finish Andrade later in the fight.
One way I can see this fight playing out is Andrade getting in close and aiming to take Lemos down. Andrade lands 2.90 takedowns per 15 minutes, Lemos has a takedown defense of 87% and she’ll need every bit of it against the pressure of Andrade.
Overall though, I’m liking Andrade’s odds before she becomes a heavy favorite. The former champ has the athleticism and tools to find a way to grind out a decision win.
Betting Prediction: Andrade by Decision.
Lemos plans to deliver ‘blood and war’ against Andrade
“If the fans want a show, I’m gonna be the person to show them the show. If they want to see blood, if they want to see punches, I’m going to show them that. I’m going to show them a war.”
In a recent interview, Lemos details how she plans to put on a show for the fans at UFC Vegas 52. With the winner having the chance to take on Rose Namajunas vs Carla Esparza.
