The UFC’s second PPV of 2021 kicks off on Feb 13 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. Headlined by former teammates Kamaru Usman and Gilbert Burns. We give an early fight prediction with UFC fight odds for the main card.

Below are predictions for all five fights on the UFC 258 main card.

Usman vs Burns

I am 50/50 on this fight, but let’s not sit on the fence. As far as Usman’s past opponents go, this is a stylistic nightmare for the Nigerian Nightmare, who is a -290 favorite with more public money coming in on the champ. You can bet $290 on Usman defeating Burns, to net $100 profit.

For Gilbert Burns who is a big underdog here according to the oddsmakers, he has an unbelievable chance to upset the odds. You can bet $100 to win $225 on Burns defeating Usman at UFC 258.

Usman’s key to victory would be to hold Burns against the fence and deliver body shots, foot stomps. However, I’m sure Burns will be expecting the worst and come prepared with his arsenal of well-rounded attacks that could cause Usman problems on the feet and the ground if it goes that way. Usman pulled out due to a broken nose twice leading up to this fight, which should be a cause for concern for such a heavy betting favorite.

Burns is definitely been overlooked here. He is the biggest underdog on the card and I am picking him to not only defeat Usman but win by finishing the Nigerian Nightmare on the feet.

Pick: Gilbert Burns +225.

Barber vs Grasso

The betting line for Maycee Barber vs Alexa Grasso is a close one. I am giving the edge to Grasso as a slight favorite.

Barber is still only 22 and has lots of time to live up to her nickname “The Future”. However, when it comes to the more experienced strikers with good defense, she will struggle beyond the 1st round KO’s.

Grasso has had a much tougher rise to the top than Barber. I can see Grasso picking off Barber over the course of the fight, with a combination of straight punches and leg kicks to stop Barber.

Pick: Alexa Grasso -152.

Gastelum vs Heinisch

Kelvin Gastelum is the way more technical fighter here. Ian Heinisch has a tendency to slow down in fights, which is not recommended when going up against Gastelum when he’s motivated.

Gastelum is only entering his prime, I expect him to stop the takedowns and push the pace to score a late TKO win over Heinisch.

Pick: Kelvin Gastelum -220.

Rivera vs Munhoz 2

Styles make fights and this type of fight has played out before. Pedro Munhoz is now 34 and is coming off a five-round war with Frankie Edgar.

I am giving Jimmy Rivera the advantage here. He has the reach advantage and the takedown is there if he wants to wrestle. If this fight were five-rounds I would prefer Munhoz’s odds, but over three-rounds Rivera will crank out a decision win.

Pick: Jimmie Rivera -144.

Marquez vs Pitolo

Starting off the main card is Julian Marquez vs Maki Pitolo. Julian Marquez the “Cuban Missile Crisis” will start off strong, once Pitolo can survive the first onslaught, he will have the speed advantage as the fight goes on.

Marquez has a solid chin but hasn’t fought since 2018. Whereas Pitolo has evolved over the years and will have more tools to cause problems for the inactive Marquez.
