Bare Knuckle FC 5 took place on Saturday night headlined by Artem Lovov vs. Jason Knight, the two former UFC fighters fought a bloody war that lasted all five rounds and had the crowd on their feet. Lobov rose to fame as Conor McGregor’s training partner with a mixed record of (13-15-1), he has finally found his stage at Bare Knuckle FC.
Prior to Saturday’s event, Artem Lobov and Paulie Malignaggi went head to head at a promotion for the event, with Malignaggi giving Lobov a cheap slap before being separated. These two have some history, as Malignaggi was picked as a sparring partner for Conor McGregor in the build up his fight against Floyd Mayweather in 2017. This led to two controversial sparring sessions, which ended up being perfect PR material for the McGregor camp – releasing brutal clips and photos of Malignaggi being boxed round the ring by The “Notorious” one leading up to MayMac.
Bare Knuckle FC now lays claim to this strange space in combat sports where former boxers and MMA fighters can settle their grudges the old fashioned way. Who would of thought we’d see Paulie Malignaggi take on Artem Lobov in a bare knuckle fight in 2019?
BKFC 6 Betting Odds: Artem Lobov vs. Paulie Malignaggi

- Paulie Malignaggi: (-280)

Malignaggi once held world titles in two different weight classes, the IBF junior welterweight title from 2007 to 2008, and the WBA welterweight title from 2012 to 2013. He has fought the who’s who of boxing – from Amir Khan to Zab Judah and Shawn Porter, since then he has went on to become an excellent commentator for Showtime, Fox Sports and Sky Sports.
The early oddsmakers are giving Pauli a better chance of beating the “Goat” Lovov. Dave Freeman, Bare Knuckle FC promoter isn’t waiting around, with already scheduling the fight for June. That doesn’t give Artem Lovov much time to heal after his war with Jason Knight, so this could be work in Malignaggi’s favour.
