Ryan Garcia – Believe the hype

Garcia (20-0), represents the future generation of boxing. He’s got the backing of Golden Boy Promotions, with the likes of Oscar De La Hoya and Canelo Alvarez vouching for the young star.

In his last bout against Francisco Fonseca we seen legit knockout power from Garcia. This combined with his speed and athletic ability means the future is bright for Garcia.

However like any young undefeated fighter that hasn’t tasted defeat, we have yet to see him in deep waters yet. Facing a seasoned veteran in Linares will be a true test for Garcia. He will have to deal with adversity as this fight will not end in a 1st round KO, like Garcia’s last two bouts.

The Talent Pool at Lightweight Boxing

According to Dan Rafael of ESPN “the 135-pound weight class the most loaded in boxing when it comes to young, exciting fighters.”

Joining Ryan Garcia is world titleholders Teofimo Lopez Jr. (15-0, 12 KOs), 22, and Gervonta “Tank” Davis (23-0, 22 KOs), 25, and former titlist Devin Haney (24-0, 15 KOs).

Then you have Vasyl Lomachenko who tops many P4P lists. “The Matrix” holds wins over Jorge Linares, Guillermo Rigondeaux and most recently Luke Campbell in August 2019. No matter which way you match up these young guns with Lomachenko, it will make for must see boxing action!
