Artur Beterbiev vs Anthony Yarde Prediction

This fight will mark Beterbiev’s first fight in Britain, with the majority of his fights taking place in his new home of Canada and the U.S. also.

In Beterbiev’s last fight he demolished Joe Smith Jr. with a second-round TKO victory. Smith Jr. lost his WBO light heavyweight title to Beterbiev that night and the 31-year-old came one step closer to unifying the light heavyweight division.

Yarde who once had an air of invincibility to him prior to 2019, has now rebuilt himself following his first loss to another Russian boxer Sergey Kovalev. Since then Yarde has won five fights by finish and went to a split decision loss against Lyndon Arthur.

“Anthony Yarde is a good fighter, he is strong – he is a body builder,” said Beterbiev.

“I respect him and respect all my opponents… be ready.” It seems that Beterbiev has taken a similar approach that Fury has about Anthony Joshua, who likes to call AJ nothing but a bodybuilder.

Yarde’s best chance of upsetting the odds here against Beterbiev is by being aggressive in the early rounds and attacking the Chechen’s body, and then going for a big KO. The benefit Beterbiev has here is that’s essentially what we experienced in his last fight against Joe Smith and Beterbiev proved he can match that ferocity and finish his opponents in the early rounds.

Overall, this is an exciting match-up between two heavy hitters that are destructive in the light heavyweight division. Beterbiev is world class and his talent will shine on Jan 28, which will ultimately set up a blockbuster world title unification bout against Dmitry Bivol.

I expect Beterbiev to score another KO win here within rounds 4-8 if you are a round-betting fan.

Betting Pick: Beterbiev by KO – Rounds 4-8
