Chisora vs Parker Predictions for Rematch

The first fight was close, I think Parker could off won more rounds if he stuck to his game plan and boxed instead of getting drawn into a war with Chisora.

Chisora has the ability to engage the best boxers in his type of warfare. It makes for highly entertaining boxing but isn’t the most technical display you’ll see.

Parker should have more success in this fight working off his jab and catching Chisora as he’s coming in. Now that the Parker-Andy Lee partnership has had more time to settle, I see their bond helping the New Zealand fight a more discipline and clinic fight.

Chisora is an old warhorse and hasn’t been finished since he fought Dillian Whyte in 2018. He’s also shown he can go the distance with some of the greats including Oleksander Usyk, who’s now the WBA, IBF, WBO & IBO heavyweight champion.

This is the classic case of a boxer vs slugger, and more often than not the boxer has more tools to win; in this case Joseph Parker. The blueprint is already there on how to defeat Chisora, stick, and move which is typically Parkers style.

It will be tough for Parker to get Chisora out of there. The best-case scenario I see is Parker winning a more decisive decision against an always game and ready Derek Chisora.

Parker & Andy Lee Partnership

Joseph Parker on his perception of what people are likely to find differences in the rematch against Derek Chisora, when compared to what they saw during their last match.

“In the first fight we [Andy Lee] didn’t have the longest camp together. We were all getting to know each other and then had to get ready for the fight. A longer camp this time around will be a lot more beneficial as I’m understanding a lot more what Andy is trying to teach me. I’ve been working really hard every day of every week, putting in some great work with the team I have here. A longer camp is going to be way better for me.”

What attributes of Joseph Parker’s boxing has Andy Lee added.

“I had a lot in my game when I was training in Las Vegas under Kevin Barry but it’s always good to get a different view on things and a different approach. As a fighter I’m very excited because I have a lot more to give and I just needed a bit of a refreshing start and that’s what I’ve been getting from Andy. Obviously he’s been in the ring himself and he’s been a world champion, so he can teach me things that he learnt from being a fighter. I’m excited from what I’ve been seeing and feeling in the gym and I just want to put it on display.”

Joseph Parker predicts how he will defeat Derek Chisora in the rematch.

“If I do what I know I can do then it’s not going to go the distance and he feels the same way. I feel good. I feel great. There’s no short camp, there’s no issues, there’s no problems. Everything is on track so I feel like I’m going to put on a good performance. I just want to go out there and I just want to fight.”

If Parker can pull off an impressive win over Chisora, it could put his name back in the hat with the top five heavyweights. I like the idea of Parker vs Ruiz next. Who do you think wins and should face next? Comment below!
