On June 4th live from Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Australia George Kambosos will take on Devin Haney to unify the boxing lightweight division. The stakes are high with both fighters in their prime and aiming to find out who is the undisputed champion at 135 pounds. We review the latest betting odds and give an early fight prediction for Haney vs Kambosos below.

Haney vs Kambosos Prediction

George Kambosos Jr. had his hand raised by split decision last November to dampen Teofimo Lopez’s undefeated run and capture the four lightweight titles. The fight was a back and forth conflict in which each side dug deep to outwork the other en route to the split-decision victory. Kambosos’s underdog status remains in place again against Haney, just with a much close betting line this time.

Haney’s last win was over JoJo Diaz in December 2021, another masterclass by one of the youngest skilled champions in boxing right now. Haney’s last three fights have gone to the judge’s scorecards, that being said he is starting to fight high-caliber opponents such as Jorge Linares, and next up is his biggest test to date against George Kambosos. Haney’s ability to outbox his opponents and remain unscratched himself is reminiscing of a young Floyd Mayweather.

Haney’s style will be in harsh contrast to Kambosos’s last opponent Teofimo Lopez. We see a version of Lopez that overextended himself at just about every moment in the fight and left himself open to Kamsosos’s quick counterpunching style. We will likely see a different version of Kambosos this time around who will have to deal with Haney who usually outboxes his opponents at a distance, and “The Dream” which has a three-inch reach advantage over Kambosos.

George Kambosos vs Devin Haney: 5 Things You Should Know Before [UNDISPUTED]

As the fight progresses this means we could see Kamboss having to take more chances in order to find Haney within range. Haney’s chin also remains questionable, not for any particular reason other than he hasn’t taken enough damage for us to know how he’ll hold up. Kambosos on the other hand is a true Greek warrior fighting out of where he calls home these days; Australia. We’ve seen “Ferocious The Emperor” take significant damage in fights and remain ever present in the eye of the storm, with a chin of granite.

If this fight plays out at a calculated pace it will suit Haney, who could easily cruise to yet another decision win on Kambsoso’s home turf. It would be more difficult for Kambosos to win this route, although if he scores one or two know downs across various rounds it would make it close.

This will be an actual test for Haney and while I like his chances, I think Kambosos has the slight edge given his speed and aggressiveness which should cause Haney to leave some openings for Kambosos to win being champions in this “Fight for Undisputed” clash.

Best Bets for Haney vs Kambosos

From all the online sportsbooks I’ve monitored for Haney vs Kambosos odds, we found three betting props that jumped out that offered the best betting value.

Fight Goes The Distance -260

Oddsmakers are favoring Haney vs Kambosos to go a decision. At -260, you would need to wager $260 to net $100 on either fighter winning by decision.

Haney by Decision +100

Haney winning by decision against George Kambosos will be one of the most heavily bet props for June 4th. Not only has Haney become a master at outboxing his opponents but Kambosos will be at a 3-inch reach disadvantage.

Kambosos by KO/TKO +500

A slightly controversial betting pick for Haney vs Kambosos, but one of my favorite of the bunch. A $100 wager here would secure a $500 profit on GK stopping Haney in his tracks.

Kambosos Claims Haney was Chosen

George Kambosos claims that WBC champion Haney needs to admit that he was chosen for this fight, and has no way to back out of it.

“I really could have fought anybody. Haney’s not my mandatory,” said Kambosos. “When he talks, ‘I was forcing this.’ How was he forcing it? You’re not my mandatory. I could have said, ‘No, I’m fighting Joe Blow that works next door at the warehouse here’ if I wanted to and sold it out.

You were chosen. Be here on June 5th. I want to continue beating the best. That’s what excites me and motivates me. That’s what gets me out of bed,” said Kambosos.
