We cover the odds for Lewis vs Tuivasa, which is almost guaranteed some knockout action.
Derrick Lewis vs Tai Tuivasa Odds
UFC betting sites & online sportsbooks alike are favoring Derrick Lewis with an implied win probability of 66.2%, you can wager $196 to net $100 with these current odds. Meanwhile, Tuivasa is a solid underdog heading into this bout, bet $100 and win $166 if “Bam Bam” gets his fifth consecutive win in a row.
Betting on Lewis vs Tuivasa
While the latest UFC 271 odds are favoring Lewis, he was an underdog in his last bout to Chris Daukaus. Lewis opened as a +140 underdog and averaged around +128 by the time he entered the octagon to fight Daukaus. Making this the Texan’s fifth win across his last six fights. After this dazzling KO in the first round, Lewis’s fire seems to be back and the oddsmakers are hot on him repeating this against Australia’s Tai Tuivasa at UFC 271.
Prior to his last outing, Lewis was unsuccessful in his bid to capture the interim heavyweight crown, falling to Ciryl Gane at UFC 265. It seems that Lewis’s main disadvantages are technical strikers and wrestlers, both of which “Bam Bam” doesn’t pose a huge threat. That being said, if these two get into a war in the first round this really is a 50/50 fight with either fighter getting their lights shut out early.
Tuivasa is also on the bounce back but in a different way. After losing three fights in a row, the Aussie punched his way back into form scoring four impressive knockout wins, three of which happened in 2021.
Tuivasa’s betting odds have also been up and down reflective of the power punchers form over the years. When he fought Stefan Struve & Augusto Sakai, the odds opened as a pick em’ with Tuivasa eventually being the slight favorite for both bouts come fight night.
It’s safe to say UFC 271 will be fireworks and Lewis vs Tuivasa will have the crowd on their feet. My betting pick is this fight ends by KO, who’s your early betting pick? Comment below!
