Derrick Lewis vs Sergey Spivak Prediction
Derrick Lewis’s just first-round TKO loss to Sergei Pavlovich at UFC 277 on July 30, was the second in a row for the Black Beast, who was beaten at UFC 271 by Tai Tuivasa in the same competition.
Sergey Spivak is coming off a 2nd-round TKO victory on August 6th at UFC Vegas 59 over Augusto Sakai. The win was the fifth in Spivak’s last six bouts, Prior to his victory over Sakai, Spivak stopped Greg Hardy in only 136 seconds at UFC 272.
The sky is the limit for Spivak, who could be in title contention in 2023 with a big win over Lewis. Spivak’s first three UFC bouts were flop and he has turned things around big time Overall, the Moldovan boasts a record of 15-3 with 7 knockouts and 6 submission victories. Spivak has noteworthy UFC wins over Tai Tuivasa, Jared Vanderaa, Carlos Felipe, and Alexey Oleynik.
For Lewis, who is the betting underdog, you can never count him out and when he’s hurt he’s at his most dangerous. Lewis will need to use all his championship-level experience he has obtained in recent fights against Tai Tuivasa, Ciryl Gane and Daniel Cormier in the past to hone in on Spivak and go for a must needed win here.
My prediction is that this fight could go either way, one thing is for sure – it will not go the distance. Make sure you check out the betting props via these sports betting sites for winner by KO. Spivak will have the speed advantage, but Lewis by KO as an underdog is the value bet for me.
Betting Pick: Lewis by KO.
