It looks like Jose Aldo is set to make his return to the Octagon against Alexander “The Great” Volkanovski at UFC 237, which is an upcoming pay-per-view in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Jose Aldo has bounced back from two back -to-back losses to Max Holloway, to finish Jeremey Stephens with a body shot and then TKO Renato Moicano at UFC Fight Night 144. At 32, Aldo’s career is dwindling and he even has plans to retire this year. What makes this match-up even more enticing is that Max Holloway is moving up to Lightweight to face Dustin Poirier, leaving the featherweight division wide open again.
Alexander Volkanovski in our opinion is a future champ, but perhaps the UFC are launching the Australian a little early with the old lion Aldo? Either way this is a win-win for the UFC and we can’t wait to see how this fight pans out.
