The Hype was Real with Teofimo Lopez
When you defeat the #1 P4P boxer on the planet, it tends to raise your profile. That’s exactly what’s happening to Teofimo Lopez right now. He’s been catapulted into #6 spot according to RingTv.com.
Lopez now has the world on his fingertips, with rumours of a Gervonta Davis fight in the works. Oddsmakers couldn’t help themselves releasing futures boxing odds on that bout too.

Criticism of Haney
Gary Allen Russel Jr. recently posted a video on social media. He claimed to have watched the fight after its live telecast and was left unimpressed with it.
Criticizing Haney’s performance, Russel Jr, said, “Honestly, I ain’t watched that s***. I got about a million phone calls, though. I watched it (Haney vs Gamboa) yesterday, last night. Devin boy, you did all the mother f**** talking and you looked like s***. I swear ti god that was the boringest mother f**** fight ever. I don’t know why people paid that money to see that s***. You did all these mother f*** rapping.”
He added, “Get the f*** out of here. That s*** that you did last night. I mean Saturday with Gamboa that s*** was ref*****diculous man. That s*** was ridiculous. You know that was unf***satisfactory to what you said to yourself.”
Haney bounced back and claimed he’s special: “I am the best boxer in the lightweight division, Gervonta Davis, Ryan Garcia and Teofimo Lopez are good fighters, but I’m special. My skill set is on another level and they all know it. I’m the best. Everyone else is talking a good game until it is time to sign the contract to fight me. All I do is dominate!”
Devin Haney will have to take the critics with a grain of salt. At only 21 years of age, there is still immense potential that can be generated. This underwhelming win can be a safe learning lesson for the undefeated boxer.
