2021 NBA MVP Favorites
There are a number of potential MVP contenders for the 2021 season. Let’s take a look at who I believe stands the best chance.
Luka Doncic: +410
At odds of +410, you could bet $100 on Luka Doncic to net $410 on becoming the next NBA MVP.
wrapped up the 2019-20 season on a tear, slamming a buzzer-beater for the ages in the NBA Bubble and causing the LA Clippers some serious trouble in the first round of the playoffs.
Fan’s shouldn’t be surprised to see Doncic so highly favored by NBA MVP oddsmakers. After all, he finished 4th in MVP voting last year, higher than his piers such as Kawhi Leonard and Anthony Davis.
Giannis Antetokounmpo: +480
Giannis’s MVP odds for 2021, highly favor him to three-peat. Where a $100 bet could make you a nice $480 profit.
Giannis is always in contention. Can the Milwaukee Bucks star make it three MVP’s in a row? It’s a tall task, that Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, and Larry Bird have accomplished the feat.
Giannis has committed another 5-years to The Bucks, which will give fans and bettors reassurance the two-time MVP is in a good place.
Anthony Davis
Davis is a seven-time NBA All-Star and has been named to four All-NBA First Teams and four NBA All-Defensive Teams. His odds of winning the 2020 NBA MVP is +850, bet $100 to win $850.
Steph Curry
Curry was the 2016 NBA MVP winner. A six-member panel believes Curry will finish fifth in MVP voting, with Wiseman finishing runner-up to LaMelo Ball for Rookie of the Year.
2021 NBA MVP Underdogs
At +1300 Kevin Durant has a 7% chance of bringing back the NBA MVP crown. You can bet $100 to win $1300 on the The Nets Star.
So much so that in their recent league-wide survey, seven percent of the NBA’s general managers predicted Durant will receive the MVP nod in 2020-21. Only four players received a larger percentage of votes: Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo (32%), Dallas’ Luka Doncic (21%), Los Angeles’ Anthony Davis (18%) and LeBron James (18%).
LeBron James is much further down the list than previous years. The Lakers star, has odds of +1500, which could payout $1500 on a $100 bet.
