Rico Verhoeven vs Alistair Overeem Odds
Rico Verhoeven is the most dominant fighter that Glory has ever seen and the opening betting odds reflect this. At -550, that’s an implied win probability of 84% for Rico. Where as Overeem is the betting underdog (Bet $100 to win $340). This fight will be for the Glory heavyweight title. Not all online sportsbooks have Glory odds available, so you might have to shop around.
“Me and Badr fought twice … he doesn’t hold the title,” Overeem told The MMA Hour. “This is a prestige fight, of course, but he doesn’t hold the title. So of course I’m gonna go as high as possible and that’s Rico. It’s gonna be big. The circle will be complete.”
I don’t see see fight being totally competitive. However, there are still lot’s of unknowns that could throw the odds off. What if Overeem can land those big shots? He’s a still got the power and has been using it more in MMA these past few years. Can Rico finish the fight early or will it go into the later round? Honestly this is very similar to the lead up both Rico vs Badr fights, and it makes for a much watch event!
Both fighters have fought already this year, which is positive in terms of ring rust after the pandemic. Overeem was on a two win fight streak until losing to Alexander Volkov and ultimately leaving the UFC. Rico is coming off a heavyweight tournament victory with 2 wins in the same night over Tarik Khbabez and Hesdy Gerges.
