UFC 263 Odds for Adesanya vs Vettori Rematch

The UFC 259 fight card is officially stacked. Added below the three title fights is a lightweight bout between Rakic vs Santos, with betting odds covered here.

Champion vs Champion

Israel Adesanya is en route to Jon Jones, but standing in his way his the highly overlooked new light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz.

After assessing Blachowicz’s past four wins, including Luke Rockhold, Ronaldo Souza, Corey Anderson and Dominick Reyes for the vacant title. Blachowicz was indeed a betting underdog in all of these fights.

Adesanya will recognize the strengths that Blachowicz brings to the octagon. Just like when he faced Romero, the respect was there – but maybe a little too hesitant for fans to watch. Then at UFC 253, Adesanya returned to face the undefeated boogyman of the division Paulo Costa – in a one sided silencing of The Brazilian.

Many expected a rematch between Adesanya and Whittaker, especially after Whittaker picked up two wins since their encounter. However, according to Dana White Whittaker turned down the rematch. We don’t doubt Whittaker for backing out, but perhaps it’s too soon of a turn-round after fighting more frequently in 2020.

“I said I’m going to fight the supposed GOAT, 2021, Raiders Stadium,” Adesanya told UFC broadcaster Megan Olivi on the post-fight show. “I’m hoping to god after these elections all this corona sh*t vanishes and then we can have crowds again, because that fight needs to be in front of a crowd.

“It’s going to be the biggest fight in UFC history, I believe, bar any fight that’s been put up.”

While many people are already sleeping on Jan against Izzy, we believe this fight will be much closer than people think.

Both are finishers and have championship level experience. It will be interesting to see how Adesanya’s speed translates at this upper weight-class. Lot’s to look forward as the future of these two weight classes unfold over the coming months!
