- Terence “Bud” Crawford is currently +100 in the latest odds to Errol Spence Jr as a -130 favorite.
- Negotiations are being discussed of an 80-20 split in favor of Spence Jr, who originally offered 60-40 earlier this year.
- We review the betting odds between Crawford and Spence to see where the early value is.
Errol Spence’s latest negotiating tactic might just mean a potential fight against Crawford is off the table. That hasn’t stopped the oddsmakers speculating who is the betting favorite and underdog in this competitive Crawford Spence clash.
Terence Crawford vs Errol Spence Odds
|Errol Spence Jr||-130|
According to the latest Crawford vs Spence betting line; Terence Crawford’s odds are +100 to defeat Errol Spence Jr. That gives Crawford a 50% implied win probability against Spence Jr.
Errol Spence Jr is the slight betting favorite, which means if you bet $130 you could win $100 with these early odds.
Technically this is a 50/50 fight. You got two undefeated boxers who are ranked within the top-ten pound for pound in the world.
The oddsmakers are giving a slight edge to Spence. His last three opponents were Mikey Garcia, Shawn Porter, and Danny Garcia. This tells us he can hang in there with the who’s who of boxing and play a physical game of chess down to a tee.
In terms of being the more versatile boxer, I see Crawford having more tools at his disposal to cause Spence problems. Crawford is the kind of fighter that takes his time to figure out his opponents. Then uses whatever chinks in their armor he sees against them.
That being said, Crawford’s most recent opponents were Amir Khan, Egidijus Kavaliauskas, and Kell Brook. All fantastic boxers, but past their sell-by date to be fair. Crawford still has what it takes even at 33, but the clock is running out for him to cement his name among the great welterweights.
Will Crawford vs Spence Happen in 2021?
The way Spence Jr is treating Crawford makes “Bud” look like Z side, not even the B side. This shows us that Spence doesn’t have much interest in fighting the undefeated Crawford.
If Danny Garcia can receive a 60/40 split against Spence, then surely Crawford deserves a bigger slice of the pie. In my opinion, Crawford deserves nothing less than a 60/40 split, and should just move on and fight Shawn Porter to keep active in 2021.
Before this fight can happen, “Bud” is set to face Porter next. Check out the opening Terence Crawford vs Shawn Porter odds.
